Congrats, if you're here, you actually read privacy notices, like Bunsen over here, which is great. Becuase I'm lazy, this is a collective notice for the following websites:
- privacydisasters.com
- knowligence.info
- careylening.com
I've got a separate bonus one for Privacat Insights, because Substack.
How I Process Data
- Email Correspondence: If you email me (e.g., to give me kudos or report a privacy disaster), I will obviously collect and process your email address and any other personal information you include in the email (such as your name or contact number).
- Newsletter Subscription: If you sign up to receive Privacat Insights in your inbox or via your Substack account, Substack will receive your email address or account information, and I will be able to see that you have subscribed.
- External Links: If you click on a link to Twitter or LinkedIn from this site, Twitter or LinkedIn is probably going to collect information about the type of machine you're using, any unique identifiers it has created about you, and your IP address. It will probably also know if you're logged in. I'm not processing this information, but I think it's worth noting.
- Cloudflare: Cloudflare may collect IP address information to protect and secure the websites from attackers and bots, though I do not have access to this information. All I can see is aggregate country information.
Legal Basis for Processing
If you send me an email, I will be processing that information based on your consent. Obvious, no?
Data Retention
I do not have a specific storage retention period for emails.
Sub-Processors
I use the following sub-processors to manage this website, security, and receive emails.
- Cloudflare: Based in the US, Cloudflare is used to secure this website and prevent DDoS and other nastiness (as well as blocking bots). This is based on my legitimate interests in keeping baddies out and not getting pwned.
- Protonmail: Based in Switzerland, I use Protonmail as my primary email provider. I rely on legitimate interests for this processing.
- Infomaniak: Based in Switzerland, Infomaniak hosts my websites and processes information based on legitimate interests.
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your information:
- Access: You may request access to any information you have provided to us. That's almost always going to be emails, since I'm not collecting anything else.
- Deletion: You can request that I delete your emails or other information you have provided.
- Correction/Rectification: You can request to change the email address associated with your Privacat Insights subscription.
- Objection & Restriction of Processing: If applicable, you can object to the processing of your data, or you can ask that I restrict that processing.
